Professor Bawa is a world leader in ecology and biodiversity preservation, and an outstanding innovator in education and community involvement in preservation of biodiversity hotspots.  

He'll be discussing the efforts of ATREE Foundation to preserve biodiversity in the Himalayas, the involvement of ancient communities in this effort, and the need for modernizing the training of scientists in this field. He'll also talk about --and show-- some of the amazing photography of Himalaya wildlife (and people) from his books with nature photographer/film producer Sandesh Kadur.
