New Camera Has Arrived!

After 5 months of anticipation, the first of BMC's new field cameras have arrived.  Staff is currently getting familiar with the new camera and developing a training session for it.  While it is not quite ready for general use yet, you are welcome to come down to the studio to check it out here. 

The camera is a Sony NX-5.  It is tapeless, it records to widely available SD Media cards.  Members are encouraged to purchase thier own cards for use with the camera.  (See Adam for details and Specs)  The camera format (both HD and SD) integrate seemlessly with Adobe Premiere Pro - which we are encouraging producers to start using for editing.  You can continue to edit with Final Cut Express but the processes for working with tapeless media are much easier with Premiere.

The camera records both HD and SD formats.  On a single 16GB card you can get just under 90 minutes of full HD video (235 minutes in SD) and there are slots for two cards.
