Volunteer Needed, Studio Class and Flash Film Festival

VOLUNTEER NEEDED!
We are looking for a volunteer camera person to record a lecture at the Beech Street Center entitled "The Conversation Project: Making Your Wishes Count." This presentation by Dr. Nicholas Argy, J.D. teaches how to express end of life wishes through conversation and legal documents. Dr. Argy teaches Health Law at Boston University School of Public Health. This event will take place on Friday, September 18th at 1:15 PM at 266 Beech Street Center. STUDIO PRODUCTION CLASS
This Saturday on September 19th, BMC will be offering a Studio A Production Bootcamp class. This is an intensive 5 hour workshop that covers all aspects of production in Studio A.  Topics from pre-production planning to lighting to control room operation will be discussed.  This workshop is for producers of studio productions and anyone interested in being part of a crew in a studio A production.  The workshop is hands-on and interactive.  Participants will get to learn each position in a studio crew from camera operations to audio to director.  Recommended companion workshop is the Broadcast Pix Bootcamp.  Lunch will be provided. The class will take place from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM at 9 Lexington St. in Belmont. Class fee is $40 for BMC members and $50 for non-members. To register, visit: belmontmedia.org/learn/classes. MASSACHUSETTS FLASH FILM FESTIVAL
This is the last week to register for the 2015 Massachusetts Flash Film Festival. Plenty of space is still available for those interested in signing up. This a fun and challenging competition where filmmaking teams write, shoot and edit a 4-7 minute film in 72 hours. Prizes will be award, including a new scholarship for an emerging filmmaker presented by the three-time MFFF award-winning team Paracelsus Films. Students attending high school or college are encouraged to compete for this scholarship. A Kick-off event will take place here at Belmont Media Center at 7:00 PM on October 1st. October 2nd is the official start date of the festival which will end on October 4th at 7:30 PM. Registration ends on September 20th. So get your team together and be a part of the fun!
