Tech Tip 2/28/14 -- Label Your Media

Anonymous

As I make rounds around the media center I have noticed that there are a bunch of unlabled DVDs, Blu-Ray Disks and other media just lying around, in the control room and edit bays particularly.

I just want to remind everyone to label you media and take it with you at the end of your production/edit session.  Please don't leave your media (especially unlabled media) around the media center.  That is a great way for it to get lost.  I also strongly recommend putting your disks in a plastic jewel case to prevent them from getting damaged.  You can always ask a staff person for an empty case if you need one.

I'd also like to remind everyone to make sure the production spaces you have been using are completly cleaned up after your session.  Clean up (throw away) old scripts, notes, food containers (remember NO food or drink in the control room or edit suites).  Put dishes such as coffee cups in the dishwasher. Unless other arrangements have been made with staff, completely strike your set and clean the studio.  Please remember to plan time for facility strike and clean-up after you shoot.

I will be making rounds though the facility everyday at closing time.  Any unlabled disks, scripts, notes, etc. left in any location will be thrown in the trash.

Please remember to clean up after your session to help keep the BMC an inviting place for all to work and enjoy.

Thank You.
