Adobe Premiere Pro Trial
With the announcement from Apple a few weeks ago that they were abandoning Final Cut Pro 7 in favor of a new, radically different version many production houses are re-evaluating their choice of edit systems. BMC is no different.
As we move to new technologies, cameras and formats, we are quickly out-growing Final Cut Express. This move by Apple will require everyone, staff included, to learn a new piece of software. One of the options under serious consideration is to move to Abobe's Premiere Pro and the Production Premium suite. A nearly full-featured 30 day trial of the Production Premium Suite has been downloaded and installed in Edit B for anyone wishing to take it for a test drive.
Some key points:
Premier can work with camera orgional files from the Sony Tapeless cameras we are purchasing. No need to render and transcode. Get editing faster.
Familure editing workflow. If you have been editing with Final Cut Express, you will notice the interface and controls are very similar, even some of Final Cut's keyboard shortcuts work as well. Re-learning is minimal.
Seemless integration with other products like Photoshop (the full version comes as part of the suite) and something new to BMC, After Effects, for creating high-end animations and composited effects. An a whole lot more.
Come on down and check it out. See Adam for a quick tour.
