Upcoming Lecture: In Rememberance - The Armenian Genocide
In the third lecture of his series, Geoffrey Brahmer discusses "In Remembrance: The Armenian Genocide." This will be a powerful presentation that utilizes history, photographs and diaries/memoirs. The topic is still a controversial subject in the world today, so Mr. Brahmer will asks some of the most fundamental questions of humanity. What do we choose to be as human beings, societies, and nations? The presentation looks at the genocide within the historical context of the break up of the Ottoman Empire and World War I. Mr. Brahmer takes the position that it is important for us to remember the Armenian victims and to learn the vital lessons of one of the first genocide in the 20 century.
Geoffrey Brahmer, the presenter, lives in Arlington, Massachusetts. A graduate of Harvard Divinity School and a Fine Arts photographer, he is the Educational Coordinator for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He has been researching the both the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide for the past several years.
