Democracy Now! co-host Juan González will be speaking in cities across the country during upcoming screenings of the new documentary based on his groundbreaking book, Harvest of Empire, which takes an unflinching look at how U.S. economic and military interests helped trigger an unprecedented wave of migration.
Visit HarvestofEmpireMovie.com for a full list of his appearances. The first one is this Friday in Tempe, Arizona, when the film screens at the Valley Art Theater, followed by Saturday in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Guild Cinema. More screenings are coming up soon in California and throughout the Midwest.
The film recently won an award for the best use of archival footage at the International Documentary Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. It uses rarely seen archival material to reveal the direct connection between the long history of U.S. intervention in Latin America and today’s immigration crisis.
