Public Science Lectures: 05/10 Advanced Research on Origin of Life

Two young scientists at the famous Szostak Lab, Harvard University, describe their respective experiments. Dr. Powner explains his widely recognized research on how nucleotides (for RNA) might have developed. His work addresses one of the most difficult challenges in the exploration of the origin of life. Itay Budin is a Ph.D. student in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University. The prize-winning experiment on the cell membrane that he demonstrates was called the "Beautiful Experiment" by Dr. Jack Szostak because of its scientific elegance.
