Science for the Public 4/09/13. Emilio Bizzi, M.D., Ph.D. of MIT and Tamar Flash, Ph.D. of Weizmann Institute discuss the complexity of simple movement. How does the brain plan and organize simple arm movements? There are still many unknowns. Because the brain is so complex movement looks simpler than it is. However, researchers are applying what they have learned, both to rehabilitation for stroke and brain disease and to advanced robotic systems.
