Youth Video and Art Summer Workshops

We are so excited to be holding not 1, not 2 but 3 summer workshops for children grades 3 and up. We know parents are always looking for educational and fun activities for their kids, and the following workshops will really achieve both ends.

Belmont Youth Video Challenge

We'll be teaching the students all about the elements that make a movie - by helping them make a movie of their own. There will be a strong emphasis on media literacy as well. How do we consume things like television, movies and news? What effect does media have on us?

When: Mon - Fri, July 15 - 26 from 9am-4pm

Where: Belmont Media Center, 9 Lexington St, Belmont, MA 02478

How much: $300* per student, requires membership

The second and third workshops are more art based.

Sculpture is Everywhere!

Students will learn about different types of sculpture, how it is used in everyday life and its meaning in our lives. They will also make windchimes that they will be able to enjoy all summer long! This workshop is open to children grades 3 and up.

When: Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 10:30am - 3:30pm

How much: $50* per student, $100 for non-members

Let's Make a Masterpiece...

Students learn about art in our everyday lives, its meaning and what makes a masterpiece, as well as creating their own replica masterpiece, in this all day workshop. This workshop is open to children grades 3 and up.

When: Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 12-5pm

How much: $50* per student, $100 for non-members
