12:42 p.m.: An Arlington resident reported his electronic drum set valued at $1,500 is missing. He was visiting a friend on Stella Road and left the electronic drum kit in a black duffel bag on the curb in front of the home on Stella Road near his car. He went inside to get his keys and when he returned, the drum set was gone. He was advised by Belmont Police that it was trash night, and the bag may have been removed by the trash collectors because they may have thought it was left outside for them to pick up. He said he did not have insurance on the kit but will look into homeowner’s insurance to see if he has any coverage.

2:56 p.m.: A New York resident is having an issue with a business owner on Concord Avenue. She her two iPhones to the business for them to provide forensic proof they were hacked by her boyfriend. The owner of the business asked her to pay $5,000 via Zelle. She did not wish to pay the money and wanted her phones back. He threatened her, saying, “You have no idea who you’re dealing with,” and refused to return her phones. Belmont Police called the business owner who said the woman was harassing him, calling in the middle of the night, so he blocked her. He believes her phone was hacked but hadn’t started working on it. He is planning to ship the phones back to her today. Belmont Police let the woman know her phones were being shipped back and to call if she doesn’t receive them in a few days.

6:09 p.m.: A Belmont resident reported her Tesla was vandalized. It was parked at charging station in the Star Market parking between 2 and 5 p.m. When she returned at 5 p.m., she noticed a small dent on the front right passenger door. She believes it may have been hit by a shopping carriage or vehicle door.

5:17 p.m.: A Beech Street resident reported theft of a license plate. The vehicle was parked on Dante Avenue, adjacent to his house the day before. He left it there overnight and returned at noon today. He didn’t know his license plate was missing until he found a note on his front windshield from someone informing him it was missing. An attempt was made to contact a resident at a home with a doorbell camera in the area, but no one responded. The license plate was entered into NCIC as stolen.

7:31 p.m.: Collision in front of the Belmont Lions Club between a 2012 Dodge operated by a Belmont man and a 2017 Honda operated by a Newtonville woman.  The Honda drove onto the sidewalk and hit a commuter rail parking sign before coming to a complete stop with airbag deployment. The Dodge was traveling on Concord Avenue when it was struck by the Honda. The Honda was going under the bridge and making a right onto Common Street when it struck the Dodge. Both operators said they did not see the other vehicle before the crash. The Dodge was towed.

Belmont Police responded to one mental health call between Feb. 15 and Feb. 20.
