Fundraiser for local organization helping victims of Ukraine
February 24th marks one year since the war in Ukraine began. Belmont resident Jennifer Hill, founder of Refugee Protection International, along with her staff and volunteers, have made more than a dozen trips into Ukraine from Romania to provide aid to more than 21,000 victims.
Refugee Protection International is continuing to help the victims by helping them evacuate ad providing medical equipment and supplies to Ukrainian hospitals as well as food, hygiene items, fuel, clothing, cash and more.
Jennifer and Belmont resident Iryna Piotrowska who is originally from Ukraine, came on Belmont Journal to talk about a fundraiser concert taking place March 3, 6 p.m. at Town Hall. An opera singer who had to flee Ukraine because of the war will be performing as well as a musician who plays the Ukrainian instrument, the bandura.
