Belmont Community Path Design Public Hearing
What is happening?
The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Community Path - Belmont Component of Mass Central Rail Trail (Phase I) project. All views and comments submitted in response to the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible. The proposed consists of the construction of a new paved shared-use path along the Fitchburg Commuter Rail and a new concrete underpass beneath the railroad tracks at Alexander Road to provide a connection from Channing Road to the Belmont Middle and High Schools.
How will this affect you?
The purpose of this project is to provide a vital connection of the Mass Central Rail Trail from the Fitchburg Cutoff Path at Brighton Street to the Clark Street pedestrian bridge. This project will also provide a connection from Channing Road to the Belmont Middle and High Schools with the construction of a concrete underpass beneath the railroad tracks at Alexander Road.
