Ex-U.N. Official John Dugard: Israel's Crimes are "Infinitely Worse" Than in Apartheid South Africa

As Palestine joins the International Criminal Court, former U.N. Special Rapporteur John Dugard talks about how an apartheid case could be brought against Israel in the ICC. "I'm a South African who lived through apartheid," Dugard said. "I have no hesitation in saying that Israel's crimes are infinitely worse than those committed by the apartheid regime of South Africa."

Geoffrey Brahmer Lectures: The Diary of Herman Kruk: A Librarian in the Vilna Ghetto 04/23/14

Episode ID:
193814

On Wednesday, April 23rd at 6:30pm, Geoffrey Brahmer continued his holocaust lecture series with a presentation entitled The Diary of Herman Kruk: A Librarian in the Vilna Ghetto.
Prior to being murdered in the holocaust, Herman Kruk, a socialist librarian, was asked by fellow prisoners, “Why write a diary? We are all going to be killed anyway.” Kruk responded, “ . . . Drunk on a pen, trembling in my hand, I record everything for future generations. . . . If I must die, it must not die with me. I leave it as a trace for future generations.” The Diary of Herman Kruk: A Librarian in the Vilna Ghettois one’s man’s will and testimony to the unspeakable horrors of the holocaust. The diary, which spans the beginning of World War II to the day before the author was murdered in Lagedi, Estonia on September 18, 1944, was written so that every person, nation and generation learns the lessons of the holocaust. It asks the most profound question of human existence: What do we choose to be as human beings?
