The Art of Multi-Camera Studio Direction | January 2013
You’ve run the studio cameras, punched the buttons on the switcher, watched the needles bounce on the audio mixer, and you’ve called the shots on a few shows. That means you’re ready to learn the art of studio direction. Challenge yourself and advance your skills to a new level by combining available technology and show format to tell a story; all the better with which to engage your audience!
This lively, hands-on workshop will provide you with the guidance, skills and encouragement needed to confidently take the helm in Studio A or on the Remote Studio. We’ll will focus on how to be creative & resourceful under pressure and how to keep your cool when leading your crew to produce really good television.
The curriculum with include Directing Commands & Production Roles:
- Pre-Production: Prepare the Crew, Rehearse the Talent
- Translating a show format into a storyline / script
- Turning production limitations: time, budget, and resources into creative opportunities
This class is for anyone with some experience crewing in Studio A and best suited for those with some experience & basic understanding of directing multi-camera TV productions.
(Pre-requisite: Studio Production Workshop or permission from the instructor)
