10 Day Belmont Youth Video Challenge | Summer 2013
Over the course of 10 days in July, students will learn all the elements that make a movie - by making a movie of their own.
The curriculum will cover the following components:
- Story structure
- Writing a script
- Acting
- Directing
- And editing the video on a computer.
This video challenge will be a hands-on experience in filmmaking. Students will get their hands on the equipment; items such as cameras, microphones and a state-of-the-art television studio - complete with lights and green screen technology.
Guided by a knowledgable instructor, the students will use all of these resources to write, crew, act in and direct a movie all their own. What better way for kids to discover media and what it means in our lives than making it themselves?
Any child in 5th grade on up to high school is eligible to join in. The cost is $350 for members, and it costs $25 to join BMC as a family. Lunch will not be provided during the workshop.
Please note: The Friday, August 16 date listed is for a screening evening for family, friends and the filmmakers from 6:30-8pm.
