Former BMC Board Members

Dr. David T. Nelson, a founding member of the Board of Directors, passed away on October 17, 2011 surrounded by his family.

David was a guiding force to fellow board members, a mentor to staff and a friend to all, serving from 2005 to 2011.

His community service and memory was honored at the 2011 Annual Meeting on November 3rd.

We will miss David's advice, his generosity and his own inimitable spirit.

In his honor, The Board of Directors created the
David T. Nelson Spirit Award
to be given out in future years to a member of the BMC community who best exemplifies David's commitment to lifelong learning, selfless public service, and spirit of adventure.

Eric Steinert served from 2007 to 2011

He is the Director of Annual Giving at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. His professional background has involved both non-profit fundraising and corporate software sales. Eric has a Masters degree in Management from the Heller School at Brandeis, and a BA from Kenyon College.

Eric and his wife, Heidi, moved to Belmont in 1999 and have two children, Emma and Andrew. Both attend the Wellington School. Eric is a St. Louis native and enjoys working with home video production.
